Behind a great game by Cole Smith, who had two goals and two assists, the Brainerd Warriors defeated the St. Cloud Tech Tigers, 5-1.

Smith found the back of the net 15 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brainerd and again while 15:06 into the second to make the score 4-0 Brainerd.

Brainerd forced St. Cloud Tech goalie Austin Althaus to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Brainerd additionally got points from Logan Rivard, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Alexander Mimmack also scored for Brainerd. More assists for Brainerd came via Adam Fischer, Isaac Johnson, Griffin Campbell, Jacob Ellingson, and Jed Rusk, who each chipped in one.

The Tigers did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. St. Cloud Tech averages 3.8 goals per game. The Tigers did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 12 shots on net to force 11 saves.

Captain Kyle Helmberger rejected 11 shots on goal for the Warriors. Brainerd incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Althaus recorded 34 saves for St. Cloud Tech. The Tigers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
