Totino-Grace beats Blake School 6-1 as Henderson gets hat trick

Ben Henderson netted a hat trick to lead the Totino-Grace Eagles over the Blake School Bears, 6-1.

Henderson's first goal came 11:43 into the first period. He then added goals at 7:28 into the second and at 12:44 into the third.

Totino-Grace was led by goalie Michael Larson, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. Larson certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.61 entering the contest.

Blake School was unable to stop the Eagles from sending pucks towards the net, and Totino-Grace eventually piled up 62 shots on goal. The Eagles were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 14 penalty minutes.

Totino-Grace also had goals scored by Chandler Nauman, who had one and Derek Lodermeier, who had two. More assists for Totino-Grace came via Brandon Hilliard, who had three, Marco Lucarelli and Jason Krych, who contributed one a piece, and Carter Roo and TJ Roo, who each chipped in two.

The Bears' offense rang up 31 shots on Totino-Grace's net.

Blake School was led by Cade Gleekel, who scored the team's only goal. Gleekel scored on the power play 1:29 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Totino-Grace. The Bears had gotten the advantage when the Eagles' Matt Olson was sent off for tripping. Johnny Ferguson assisted on the tally.

Totino-Grace registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Jackson Norris recorded 56 saves for Blake School. The Bears totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play.
