Becker-Big Lake holds on for 6-4 win against Pine City/Rush CityPrinceton Ice Arena Tue, Jan 29, 2013 The Becker-Big Lake Eagles survived a determined comeback attempt by the Pine City/Rush City Dragons on the way to a 6-4 win. Becker-Big Lake made the score 6-2 on a goal by Nick Stalpes at 6:52 in the third period, and Pine City/Rush City got as close as 6-4 when Casey Lucht scored 15:05 into the third period. Elliott Darsow was all over the ice for the Eagles, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Darsow scored 2:41 into the third period to make the score 5-2 Becker-Big Lake. Becker-Big Lake also got points from Tristan Gust, who also registered one goal and one assist. Becker-Big Lake also got a goal from Brandon Christianson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Becker-Big Lake were Milan Kent, Ethan Boutin, John Messman, and Jason Tonneslan, who contributed one a piece. The Dragons' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Becker-Big Lake power plays. Pine City/Rush City's offense rang up 36 shots on Becker-Big Lake's net. Jake Kleinsasser also scored for Pine City/Rush City. In addition, Pine City/Rush City received assists from Adam Swanson, Coltin Malchow, and TJ Gross, who each chipped in one. Ben Manzke made 32 saves for the Eagles on 36 shots. Becker-Big Lake incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Tony Pitzen recorded 23 saves for the Dragons. Pine City/Rush City incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
