Schneider leads Willmar over Morris/Benson Area, 10-7Benson High School Tue, Nov 27, 2012 The Willmar Cardinals' Hunter Schneider had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing four assists in his team's 10-7 win over the Morris/Benson Area Storm. Schneider notched his first tally 1:40 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:21 into the first, at 11:19 into the second, and at 16:31 into the second.Willmar forced Morris/Benson Area goalie Austin Crow to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots. The Cardinals was effective with a man advantage, and put in three goals while on the power play. Willmar also got points from Zech Streed, who also grabbed one goal and three assists, Trey Tollefson, who also registered two goals and one assist, and Ryan Woltjer, who also finished with one goal and two assists. Willmar also got a goal from Evan VanDenEide as well. Other players who recorded assists for Willmar were TJ Mattison, Cole Block, and Preston Peterson, who contributed one a piece. The Storm's offense rang up 36 shots on Willmar's net. Morris/Benson Area was led by Tanner Picht, who had three goals and one assist. Morris/Benson Area additionally got points from Riley Blake, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Andrew Rentz also scored for Morris/Benson Area. In addition, Morris/Benson Area received assists from Brody Gimberlin, who had two, Mac Beyer, who had three, and Darion Helberg, Jordan Staples, Chad Schwarz, and Lincoln Pahl, who each chipped in one. Levi Goosman rejected 29 shots on goal for the Cardinals. Willmar ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. Austin Crow made 34 saves for the Storm on 44 shots. Morris/Benson Area incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
