Windom Area erases deficit to stun Becker-Big Lake, 4-3

The Windom Area Eagles climbed out of a three-goal hole to beat the Becker-Big Lake Eagles, 4-3.

Windom Area never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Eagles fell behind 3-0 after a goal by Becker-Big Lake's Elliott Darsow at 4:15 in the second period. Windom Area tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Travis Janssen at 11:37 in the third period. The Eagles netted the game winner at 12:50 in the third period on a goal by Janssen.

Windom Area put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Eagles to score on any of their four power plays. The Eagles' offense rang up 33 shots on Becker-Big Lake's net.

Windom Area also got a goal from Zach Bartosh as well. More assists for Windom Area came via Devin Neilsen, Ryan Evers, and Tyler Presthus, who each chipped in one.

The Eagles kept Windom Area's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ben Stubbe made 28 saves on 31 shots.

Becker-Big Lake was led by Zach Veau, who finished with one goal and one assist. Veau scored 9:05 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Becker-Big Lake. Ben Gilchrist provided the assist. Ethan Boutin also scored for Becker-Big Lake. In addition, Becker-Big Lake received assists from Nick Stalpes, who had one and Jason Tonneslan, who had two.

The Eagles totaled 31 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 2-for-4 on the power play. Ben Manzke recorded 29 saves for the Eagles. Becker-Big Lake incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
