Alexandria holds on for 4-3 win against St. Cloud Tech

The St. Cloud Tech Tigers tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Alexandria Cardinals held on for a 4-3 victory.

Alexandria took a 4-2 lead during the second period, only to have St. Cloud Tech storm back on a Jake Samuelson goal 11:55 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

The Cardinals were sparked by Christian Canavati, who registered one goal and one assist. Canavati scored 16:21 into the second period to make the score Alexandria. Tom Schmidt picked up the assist.

Alexandria also got a goal from Brady Bast as well. In addition, Alexandria received assists from Parker Revering, who had one.

The Tigers were helped by Justin Oberg, who registered one goal. Oberg scored 12:00 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Alexandria. Matt Brettingen provided the assist. Jake Peterson also scored for St. Cloud Tech. More assists for St. Cloud Tech came via Joe Setrum and Braden Altena, who each chipped in one.

Ben Allen made 17 saves for Alexandria on 20 shots. The Cardinals incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Austin Althaus recorded 12 saves for St. Cloud Tech. The Tigers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
