The game between the Albert Lea Tigers and the Owatonna Huskies was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Albert Lea emerged with a 4-3 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Van Zelenak secured the win for the Tigers with a goal in the third period.

Zelenak had two goals to lead Albert Lea to victory.

The Tigers kept Owatonna's goalie busy throughout the game, and Luke Ebeling made 28 saves on 32 shots.

Albert Lea also got points from Nate Stadheim, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Adam Herbst also scored for Albert Lea. Other players who recorded assists for Albert Lea were Darik Weigel, who had two and Andrew Thompson, Larry Olson, and Wyatt Paulson, who each chipped in one.

The Huskies were led by Erik Colstrup, who grabbed two goals. Colstrup scored the first of his two goals at 39 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Colstrup's next tally made the score 2-2 with 5:07 left in the second period. Owatonna had taken the advantage when Albert Lea's Thompson got sent off for hooking. Aaron Kirsch provided the assist. Owatonna also got a goal from Mason Bloomquis as well. More assists for Owatonna came via Matt Ratzloff, who had one.

The Tigers' Garret Matz stopped 20 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Albert Lea incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Huskies totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play.
