Sydney Maple Leafs beats Sydney Lightning 2-1 after comeback scare

Sydney Maple Leafs survived a determined comeback attempt by Sydney Lightning on the way to a 2-1 win.

Sydney Maple Leafs took a 2-0 lead during the second period, only to have Sydney Lightning storm back on a Axel Winton goal 14:17 into the third period to pull to one goal down.

Dexter Crowe had a great game for Sydney Maple Leafs, netting two goals.

Sydney Lightning was stymied by Sydney Maple Leafs netminder Jonathan Hughes, who stopped 31 shots during the victory. Hughes managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.33 prior to the game.

Sydney Maple Leafs put 16 shots on net during the contest, more than the 1.6 it averages per game.
