Adelaide Adrenaline survives Melbourne Ice comeback, wins 4-3

Melbourne Ice almost clawed its way back from a three-goal deficit, but Adelaide Adrenaline managed to pull out a 4-3 win in the end.

Adelaide Adrenaline led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Adelaide Adrenaline's Zoe Boling's scored at 13:32 in the first period to put Adelaide Adrenaline up 3-0.

Andrea Steranko had a great game for Adelaide Adrenaline, netting two goals. Steranko scored at 13:05 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Adelaide Adrenaline and again while 5:10 into the third to make the score 4-3 Adelaide Adrenaline.

Adelaide Adrenaline's offense was clicking better than usual and put 30 shots on goal during the game, better than the 2.0 shots per game it averages.

Adelaide Adrenaline also got a goal from Meridith Boyce as well. More assists for Adelaide Adrenaline came via Gabriel Aston, Kate Tihema, and Taylor Botterill, who contributed one a piece and Bethanie Kavanagh and Sari Lehmann, who each chipped in two.

Melbourne Ice excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Melbourne Ice put 22 shots on net during the contest, more than the 4.5 it averages per game.

Melbourne Ice was led by Rylie Padjen, who registered two goals. Padjen scored the first of her two goals at 12:41 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Adelaide Adrenaline. Georgia Carson picked up the assist. Padjen's next tally made the score 3-3 with 19:08 left in the third period. Fances McPhail provided the assist. Shona Green also scored for Melbourne Ice. In addition, Melbourne Ice received assists from Nicole Tritter, who had one.

Adelaide Adrenaline's Claudia Tom stopped 19 shots out of the 22 that she faced. Adelaide Adrenaline incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Georgina Carroll made 26 saves for Melbourne Ice on 30 shots. Melbourne Ice incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
