Cleveland takes care of Breezy Point early, wins 10-1Troy Sports 1 Tue, Feb 19, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks jumped out to a five-point advantage by the end of the first period and beat the Breezy Point North Stars, 10-1. Nick Balavich had two goals and one assist to lead Cleveland. Balavich scored the first of his two goals at 7:17 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Cleveland. Zach Seither assisted on the tally. Balavich's next tally made the score 8-1 Cleveland with 9:24 left in the third period. Scott Cuthrell picked up the assist. The Jr. Lumberjacks pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 12 penalty minutes. Cleveland forced North Stars' goaltenders to work between the pipes, getting 43 shots and forcing 33 saves. Erikur Arnason made 30 stops and Walker Enstad made three. The Jr. Lumberjacks outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Cleveland averages 5.0 goals per contest. Cleveland also got points from Cuthrell, who also had one goal and two assists, Ryan Wandzel, who also grabbed one goal and three assists to lead the team in points, Jeff Monfils, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Andrew Mitch, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Cleveland also had goals scored by Cameron Dimmitt, who had two and Louis Sawchik and Jared Johnson, who scored one goal each. More assists for Cleveland came via Andrew Sprouse, who had two, Kyle Gonzalez, who had three, and Mike Palasics and Dominic Valencia, who contributed one a piece. Breezy Point also got a goal from Anthony Martinez as well. Joseph Moza recorded 22 saves for the Jr. Lumberjacks. Cleveland registered one goal on three power play opportunities.
