Three Rivers falls to Granite City in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Granite City Lumberjacks pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Three Rivers Vengeance on a clutch goal by Roy Grandov.

Granite City came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Lumberjacks fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Three Rivers' Alex Berardinelli at 1:07 in the second period. Granite City knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Alex Koopmeiners at 12:43 in the third period.

The Lumberjacks pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 26 penalty minutes.

Granite City stifled the Vengeance's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Aidan Verbeke also scored for Granite City. More assists for Granite City came via Nick Turbitt, who had two and Matt Raiola, Matt Peterson, Aaron Azevedo, and Mitch Humphries, who each chipped in one.

Three Rivers also got a goal from Kevin Kenny as well. In addition, Three Rivers received assists from Nico Vecchio, who had two and Damien Lona, Zachary Kindya, and Michael Straub, who contributed one a piece.

Scott Murray recorded 18 saves for the Lumberjacks. Granite City registered one goal on six power play opportunities. Tyler Stepke made 13 saves for Three Rivers on 17 shots. The Vengeance incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
