Cleveland rips Quad City, 7-0

The Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-0 win over the Quad City Jr. Flames.

Cleveland was led by Louis Sawchik, who tallied one goal and one assist. Sawchik scored 8:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cleveland. Dallas Szustak assisted on the tally.

The Jr. Lumberjacks stifled Quad City's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Cleveland's defense was surprisingly good. The Jr. Lumberjacks allow 2.5 goals per game. Cleveland kept the Jr. Flames' goalie busy throughout the game, and Robby Vukelich made 41 saves on 48 shots.

Cleveland additionally got points from Scott Cuthrell, who also registered one goal and one assist, Mike Palasics, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Dominic Valencia, who also had one goal and one assist, Nick Balavich, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points, and Szustak, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Cleveland came via Kyle Gonzalez, Andrew Sprouse, Andrew Mitch, Cameron Dimmitt, Pat Smith, and Zach Seither, who each chipped in one.

David Heflin recorded 16 saves for the Jr. Lumberjacks. Cleveland incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Quad City incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
