Metro erases deficit to stun Breezy Point, 3-2

Undaunted by a two-goal deficit, the Metro Jets battled back to claim a 3-2 victory over the Breezy Point North Stars.

Metro never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Jets fell behind 2-0 after a goal by Breezy Point's Billy Foy at 1:27 in the second period. Metro tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Mike Gambino at 14:54 in the second period. The Jets scored the game winner at 16:34 in the second period on a goal by Gambino.

The North Stars' power play was ineffective against Metro's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Jets were helped by Doug Andrews, who racked up one goal. Metro additionally got points from Matt Stirling, who also had one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Brad Hepler, who had two and Andrew Palushaj, Kyle Shreve, and Alex Holm, who contributed one a piece.

Breezy Point stifled Metro's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

The North Stars were helped by Bo Borowski, who finished with one goal. Borowski scored on the power play 19:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Breezy Point. Breezy Point had gotten the advantage when the Jets' Michael Lawrence was sent off for cross checking. Austin Williams provided the assist. More assists for Breezy Point came via Timothy Taylor and Kyle Whipple, who each chipped in one.

Trevor Kalinowski recorded 25 saves for Metro. The Jets incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Erikur Arnason made 21 saves for the North Stars on 24 shots. Breezy Point incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
