Otto leads Granite City over Flint, 5-2

Behind a great game by Drew Otto, who had one goal and two assists, the Granite City Lumberjacks defeated the Flint Jr. Generals, 5-2.

Otto got on the board by slotting home a power play goal 4:47 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Granite City. A holding penalty on Alex Compean had put Granite City on the power play. Otto dished an assist on Aidan Verbeke's goal that made the score 3-0 Granite City at 8:10 into the second period. He added another helper on Eric Miller's goal that made the score 4-0 Granite City at 15:03 into the second period.

Granite City additionally got points from Roy Grandov, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Matt Raiola also scored for Granite City. Other players who recorded assists for Granite City were Blake Phenow and Mitch Humphries, who contributed one a piece.

Flint was led by Austin Fletcher, who registered one goal. Fletcher scored 10:05 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Granite City. Edward Osowski picked up the assist. Flint also got a goal from Zachery Hill as well. More assists for Flint came via Phillip Garza, Nicholas Goetel, and Nicholas Gnagni, who each chipped in one.

Scott Murray rejected 22 shots on goal for the Lumberjacks. Granite City incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Jr. Generals' Anders Franke stopped 19 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Flint incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
