Three Rivers survives Quad City comeback, wins 3-2

The Three Rivers Vengeance survived a determined comeback attempt by the Quad City Jr. Flames on the way to a 3-2 win.

A goal by Alex Berardinelli put Three Rivers up 3-0 in the second period, but Quad City pulled to within one on Tanner Litvinoff's tally 6:42 into the third period.

The Vengeance pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 40 penalty minutes.

Three Rivers' penalty kill managed to stymie the Jr. Flames' power play, giving up only one goal while playing with a man down.

The Vengeance were helped by Kevin Kenny, who had one goal. Kenny scored 2:33 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Three Rivers. Nico Vecchio provided the assist. Tyler Stockwell also scored for Three Rivers. More assists for Three Rivers came via Jonah Hoover, who had one.

Quad City stifled Three Rivers' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jr. Flames' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Quad City was helped by Nathan Iaciancio, who racked up one goal. Iaciancio scored 38 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-1 Three Rivers. Peter Coppola picked up the assist. In addition, Quad City received assists from Colten Thiel and Harley Manus, who each chipped in one.

Matthew Erlichman rejected 23 shots on goal for the Vengeance. Three Rivers registered zero goals on three power play opportunities. For the Vengeance, Vincent Susi was ejected from the game. The Jr. Flames' Robby Vukelich stopped 17 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Quad City ended with 21 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. The Jr. Flames ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Luke Dickinson was ejected from the game.
