Granite City downs Battle Creek, 5-0

Mitch Humphries racked up one point to lead the Granite City Lumberjacks to a 5-0 victory over the Battle Creek Revolution.

Granite City excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Lumberjacks was steadier on the defensive front than they have been for much of this season. Granite City averages 2.3 goals allowed per game. The Lumberjacks forced Battle Creek goalie Hughes to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots.

Granite City also got points from Aidan Verbeke, who also registered one goal and two assists and Brett Love, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Matt Peterson also scored for Granite City. In addition, Granite City received assists from DJ Vold, who had one, Nick Turbitt, who had two, and Drew Otto, who had three.

The Revolution found themselves stymied offensively, and got off a mere 11 shots against Granite City's defense.

Austin Wilson rejected 11 shots on goal for the Lumberjacks. Granite City incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Hughes recorded 27 saves for Battle Creek. The Revolution incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
