North Iowa downs Peoria, 5-2

Taylor Brown had two points to lead the North Iowa Bulls to a 5-2 victory over the Peoria Mustangs.

In the losing effort, Peoria was sparked by Connor Millard, who tallied two goals. Millard scored the first of his two goals short handed at 6:40 into the second period to make the score 2-1 North Iowa. The Mustangs were on a disadvantage when Phillip Edwards went off the ice for holding. Robert Norton assisted on the tally. Millard's next tally short handed made the score 3-2 North Iowa with 3:24 left in the second period. Cory Kettler picked up the assist.

North Iowa excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Bulls forced Peoria goalie Alex Reichle to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots.

North Iowa additionally got points from Timothy Santopoalo, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Eric Behrend also scored for North Iowa. In addition, North Iowa received assists from Connor Langfield, who had two and Jake Johnson, Tony Paulson, and James Hughes, who contributed one a piece.

North Iowa's Aaron Davis stopped 21 shots out of the 23 that he faced. The Bulls incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Alex Reichle made 43 saves for the Mustangs on 48 shots. Peoria incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
