Caledonia blows out Stratford, 4-1

The Stratford Cullitons had trouble finding ways to stop the Caledonia Corvairs, which beat Cullitons, 4-1.

Caledonia was led by goalie Zach Easvet, who finished with 30 saves while allowing one goal. Easvet managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.75 prior to the game.

The Corvairs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. Caledonia's offense rang up 34 shots on Stratford's net.

The Corvairs were led by Mitch Brown, who had one goal and three assists. Brown scored on the power play 3:43 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Caledonia. A high sticking penalty on Mitch Vandergunst had put Caledonia on the power play. Connor Murphy picked up the assist. Caledonia additionally got points from Murphy, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Tyler Norrie also scored for Caledonia. More assists for Caledonia came via Ryan Blunt, who had two and Jeff Swift and Greg Christmas, who contributed one a piece.

The Cullitons could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Stratford averages 3.4 goals per game. The Corvairs were unable to stop the Cullitons from sending pucks towards the net, and Stratford eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

The Cullitons were led by Mitch Brooks, who scored the team's only goal. Brooks scored 7:05 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Caledonia. Trevor Sauder assisted on the tally.

Caledonia incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. For the Corvairs, Brendan Bomberry was ejected from the game. Joe Metzger rejected 30 shots on goal for Stratford. The Cullitons incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
