Paris falls to Ayr in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Ayr Centennials pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over Paris on a clutch goal by Jordan Eby.

Ayr came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Centennials fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Paris' Jimmy Spielvogel at 15:29 in the second period. Ayr knotted things up at 4-4 on a power play goal by Brendon Skidmore at 13:56 in the third period.

Eby had a great game for the Centennials, netting two goals. Eby scored on the power play at 1:55 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 1:18 into the fourth to make the score 5-4 Ayr.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 13:21 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Ayr forced Paris goalie Andrew Masters to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots.

Ayr also got a goal from Adam Fisher as well. More assists for Ayr came via Nick Hirs, who had two and Brandon Christopher, Declan Kaster, Logan Beechey, and Zack Taylor, who each chipped in one.

Paris had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just one goal on nine chances.

Paris was helped by Brandan Verasamy, who had one goal. Verasamy scored 1:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Paris. Ian Fowler provided the assist. Cole Cummings also scored for Paris. In addition, Paris received assists from Joel Hoekstra and Kamden Hughes, who contributed one a piece.

Jordan Witt made 23 saves for the Centennials on 27 shots. Ayr totaled 29 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 3-for-10 on the power play. Team's Jon Witt and Beechey were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Paris' Masters stopped 42 shots out of the 47 that he faced. Paris ended with 27 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors and one major. Paris ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Chay Taylor was ejected from the game.
