Alvinston beats Dresden 4-3 after comeback scare

The Dresden Kings tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Alvinston Flyers held on for a 4-3 victory.

A goal by Kirk Dorman put Alvinston up 4-2 in the third period, but Dresden pulled to within one on Cody McPhail's tally 18:51 into the third period.

Dorman had a great game for the Flyers, netting two goals.

Alvinston's offense rang up 38 shots on the Kings' net.

Alvinston also got points from Tyler Kettler, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Alvinston also got a goal from Joe Archer as well. Other players who recorded assists for Alvinston were Connor MacKinnon, who had two and Cody Perriam and Chad Vaneyk, who each chipped in one.

Dresden kept the Flyers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brad Jacklin made 28 saves on 31 shots.

Dresden additionally got points from John Montgomery, who also had one goal and one assist and Josh Beatty, who also racked up one goal and one assist. More assists for Dresden came via Taylor Sisson, who had two and Alex Schmidt and Alex Ritchie, who contributed one a piece.

Alvinston incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Brent Paxton recorded 34 saves for the Kings. Dresden incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
