Early goals doom G L Lightning, falls to Hartland Hounds, 12-0

G L Lightning fell behind early, and Hartland Hounds kept piling on the points on the way to a 12-0 victory.

Hartland Hounds got the win on the strength of a great game by Jared Vincek, who had two goals and five assists. Vincek scored the first of his two goals at 9:43 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Hartland Hounds. Thomas Kerr assisted on the tally. Vincek's next tally made the score 8-0 Hartland Hounds with 10:55 left in the third period. Brad Savard provided the assist.

Hartland Hounds stifled G L Lightning's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Hartland Hounds surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, Hartland Hounds averages 6.6 goals per contest.

Hartland Hounds also got points from Kerr, who also tallied one goal and five assists, Cameron Miglia, who also registered three goals and one assist, and Jacob Henrikson, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Hartland Hounds included Andre Spisak, who had two and Zachary Parrott, Cameron Fisher, and Collin Myers, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Hartland Hounds were Max Biggings, who had two and Ethan Doyle and Garrett Cebalt, who each chipped in one.

G L Lightning managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. G L Lightning wound up below its season average of 15.0 penalty minutes per game. G L Lightning did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. G L Lightning averages 2.3 goals per game. Hartland Hounds' defense shut down G L Lightning's forwards for much of the game, and G L Lightning got off only seven shots during the contest.

Hartland Hounds' Myles Grix stopped seven shots out of the seven that he faced. Hartland Hounds incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Colin Walsh made four saves before being replaced by Garrett Avery, who took the loss and made 10 saves. G L Lightning registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
