Michigan Ice Dogs rips Great Lakes Lightning, 7-2

Michigan Ice Dogs' Joshua Arnold had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-2 win over Great Lakes Lightning.

Arnold scored at 10:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Michigan Ice Dogs and again while 1:36 into the second to make the score 3-0 Michigan Ice Dogs.

Michigan Ice Dogs pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 16 penalty minutes.

Michigan Ice Dogs forced Great Lakes Lightning's goaltenders to work without much rest, launching 37 shots and forcing 30 saves. Colin Walsh made 10 stops and Jeff LaBaere made 20. Michigan Ice Dogs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Great Lakes Lightning power plays. Michigan Ice Dogs bested its season scoring average. Michigan Ice Dogs averages 4.1 goals per game.

Michigan Ice Dogs additionally got points from James Subu, who also registered two goals and one assist, Corey Suba, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Adam Pinkowski, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Cody Brent also scored for Michigan Ice Dogs. More assists for Great Lakes Lightning came via Ben Katan, who had one.
