Farmer's big game bests Great Lakes Lightning in 7-4 Rhinelander Street Cats win

Rhinelander Street Cats' Dylan Farmer had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team's 7-4 win over Great Lakes Lightning.

Farmer got on the board by slotting home a goal 12:30 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Rhinelander Street Cats. Dmitry Lvov picked up the assist. Farmer dished an assist on Devin Vanderwyk's goal that made the score 2-2 at 2:23 into the second period. He then added assists on Lvov's goal at 17:11 into the third and on Lvov's goal at 18:55 into the third.

Rhinelander Street Cats' penalty kill excelled, as Rhinelander Street Cats gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Rhinelander Street Cats stifled Great Lakes Lightning's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Rhinelander Street Cats forced Great Lakes Lightning goalie Colin Walsh to work between the pipes, taking 45 shots. Rhinelander Street Cats surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, Rhinelander Street Cats averages 4.0 goals per contest. The defensemen of Rhinelander Street Cats were also effective in Great Lakes Lightning's zone, and came away with two goals.

Rhinelander Street Cats also got points from Caleb Stolzman, who also had one goal and one assist, Lvov, who also racked up two goals and one assist, and Todd Houtari, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Taylor Cutting also scored for Rhinelander Street Cats. More assists for Rhinelander Street Cats came via Spencer Brasswell, Cody Schatzman, and Nicholas Fleming, who contributed one a piece.

Great Lakes Lightning stifled Rhinelander Street Cats' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Great Lakes Lightning kept Rhinelander Street Cats' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brasswell made 36 saves on 40 shots.

Great Lakes Lightning was helped by Mitchell Mergel, who registered one goal. Mergel scored 18:39 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Great Lakes Lightning. Eric Roche provided the assist. Great Lakes Lightning also got a goal from Colton James as well. In addition, Great Lakes Lightning received assists from Cochise Smith, Anthony Fiore, and Ben Katan, who each chipped in one.

Rhinelander Street Cats incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Walsh rejected 38 shots on goal for Great Lakes Lightning. Great Lakes Lightning incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
