NWO Grrrowl tried to dig itself out of a two-goal hole, but Soo Firehawks held on for a 4-3 victory.

Soo Firehawks made the score 4-2 on a goal by Alexander Drulia at 9:56 in the second period, and NWO Grrrowl got as close as 4-3 when Cody Staub scored 8:47 into the third period.

Soo Firehawks was paced by Drulia, who tallied one goal.

Soo Firehawks kept NWO Grrrowl's goalie busy throughout the game, and Chris Lewis made 49 saves on 53 shots.

Soo Firehawks also got points from Ryan Marshall, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Nicholas Murphy, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Quinton Myotte also scored for Soo Firehawks. Other players who recorded assists for Soo Firehawks were Kevin Killips, Kyler Reattoir, Anthony Laaksonen, James Goudreau, John Barlow, and Adam Derry, who each chipped in one.

NWO Grrrowl's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Soo Firehawks power plays. NWO Grrrowl forced Soo Firehawks goalie Brandon Hansen to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

NWO Grrrowl was helped by Ryan Santo, who finished with one goal. Santo scored 5:18 into the first period to make the score 1-0 NWO Grrrowl. Michael Munoz provided the assist. More assists for NWO Grrrowl came via Kyle Cobb, who had one and Grant McCormack, who had two.
