Bloomington Blaze beats Great Lakes Lightning 6-3 as Schmor gets hat trick

Kyler Schmor netted a hat trick to lead Bloomington Blaze over Great Lakes Lightning, 6-3.

Schmor's first goal came 15:09 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:39 into the third and at 19:01 into the third.

Bloomington Blaze put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Great Lakes Lightning to score on any of its four power plays. Bloomington Blaze bested its season scoring average. This season, Bloomington Blaze averages 3.8 goals per contest.

Bloomington Blaze also got points from Joseph Clemente, who also grabbed one goal and two assists and Steven Smoltz, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Bloomington Blaze also got a goal from Anton Thompson as well. Other players who recorded assists for Bloomington Blaze were Gavin Carlson, Jacob Lourash, and Patrick Anaruk, who contributed one a piece.

Great Lakes Lightning got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed three goals during the game.

Great Lakes Lightning was helped by Alexander Krebs, who tallied one goal. Krebs scored 12:18 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Bloomington Blaze. Andrew Shalawylo provided the assist. Richard Dawson also scored for Great Lakes Lightning. In addition, Great Lakes Lightning received assists from Miles Knight, who had one.

Bloomington Blaze's Carlson stopped 18 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Bloomington Blaze incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Zach Boes made 17 saves for Great Lakes Lightning on 22 shots. Great Lakes Lightning incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
