McKibbin, Brown lead Tennyson Chevrolet over NWO Grrrowl, 6-2

Behind one goal and two assists from Kyle McKibbin and two goals and one assist from Ryan Brown, Tennyson Chevrolet downed NWO Grrrowl 6-2.

McKibbin scored 16:04 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Tennyson Chevrolet. Brown picked up the assist. Brown scored the first of his two goals at 1:02 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tennyson Chevrolet. Jonathan Hultgren provided the assist. Brown's next tally made the score 5-2 Tennyson Chevrolet with 13:10 left in the third period. McKibbin assisted on the tally.

NWO Grrrowl's power play was ineffective against Tennyson Chevrolet's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 13:15 into the first period. Six fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Tennyson Chevrolet was often in penalty trouble, totaling 10 minors and three majors for 55 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 33.0 minutes per game Tennyson Chevrolet had been spending in the box. Tennyson Chevrolet forced NWO Grrrowl's goalies to work all game long, finishing with 43 shots and forcing 37 saves. Andrew Zuckerman made 32 stops and Chris Lewis made five. Tennyson Chevrolet's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine NWO Grrrowl power plays.

Tennyson Chevrolet additionally got points from Brown, who also tallied two goals and one assist to lead the team in points. Kenneth Winter also scored for Tennyson Chevrolet. In addition, Tennyson Chevrolet received assists from Ryan Krolikowski, Jason Pischke, Zachary Wiacek, Dalton Pennington, and Jerome Schlaff, who each chipped in one.

NWO Grrrowl forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up six minors and four majors for 72 minutes in penalty time. NWO Grrrowl surpassed its season average of 45.0 penalty minutes per game. NWO Grrrowl put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Tennyson Chevrolet to score on any of its six power plays.

NWO Grrrowl was led by Ryan Santo, who registered two goals. Santo scored the first of his two goals at 2:19 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Steven Keith provided the assist. Santo's next tally made the score 2-1 NWO Grrrowl with 6:13 left in the second period. Cody Staub assisted on the tally.

Dominik Corredino made 25 saves for Tennyson Chevrolet on 27 shots. Team's McKibbin and Matthew Hopersberger were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. For NWO Grrrowl, John Cahill and Gilbert Guerro were ejected from the contest.
