Hartland Hounds uses big second period to beat NWO Grrrowl, 5-0

Hartland Hounds scored three goals in the second period to pull away from NWO Grrrowl and clinch a 5-0 win.

Andrew Brownlee spearheaded the defensive effort for Hartland Hounds, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 25 saves for the shutout. Brownlee certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.86 entering the contest.

Hartland Hounds was led by Jacob Henrikson, who tallied one goal. Henrikson scored on the power play 13:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hartland Hounds. Hartland Hounds had taken the advantage when NWO Grrrowl's Zac Flachman got sent off for fighting. Thomas Kerr provided the assist.

Hartland Hounds stifled NWO Grrrowl's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Hartland Hounds' offense rang up 43 shots on NWO Grrrowl's net.

Hartland Hounds also got a goal from Cameron Miglia as well. More assists for Hartland Hounds came via Jordan Ruterbusch, Jared Vincek, Tyler Thirlby, Brendan Olson, and Alexander Grizzel, who each chipped in one.

NWO Grrrowl did not rack up many penalties in the contest, and ended with eight minors and two majors for 36 minutes in penalty time. NWO Grrrowl stayed under its season average of 51.0 penalties minutes per game this season. NWO Grrrowl did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season.
