Tennyson Chevrolet squeaks by NWO Grrrowl, 4-2

Tennyson Chevrolet and NWO Grrrowl were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Tennyson Chevrolet made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Matthew Hopersberger's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

Tennyson Chevrolet was sparked by Timothy Muhsman, who tallied one goal. Muhsman scored on the power play 19:46 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Tennyson Chevrolet. Tennyson Chevrolet had gained a power play chance when Christopher Carpenter was whistled for roughing. Jonathan Hultgren picked up the assist.

Tennyson Chevrolet forced NWO Grrrowl's goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, ripping 35 shots and forcing 31 saves. Chris Lewis made 31 stops and Vincent Ryckman made zero. Tennyson Chevrolet put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow NWO Grrrowl to score on any of its three power plays.

Tennyson Chevrolet additionally got points from Zachary Chapman, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and James Stacey Jr, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Tennyson Chevrolet came via Kenneth Winter, Anthony Davey, and Robert Danyo, who each chipped in one.

NWO Grrrowl was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 76 penalty minutes.

NWO Grrrowl was helped by Ryan Santo, who had one goal. Santo scored 4:17 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Tennyson Chevrolet. John Qualley assisted on the tally. Cody Staub also scored for NWO Grrrowl. In addition, NWO Grrrowl received assists from Hazen Ripple and Gilbert Guerro, who contributed one a piece.

Brian Ellis rejected 22 shots on goal for Tennyson Chevrolet. Tennyson Chevrolet incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. For NWO Grrrowl, John Cahill, Lewis, and Santo were ejected from the contest.
