Tennyson Chevrolet survives penalties, beats Michigan Ice Dogs, 7-3

Despite having to fight off several power plays, Tennyson Chevrolet was able to defeat Michigan Ice Dogs, 7-3.

Tennyson Chevrolet was led by Kenneth Winter, who tallied one goal. Winter scored 14:24 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Tennyson Chevrolet. Ryan Brown picked up the assist.

In the losing effort, Michigan Ice Dogs was led by Robert Speer, who registered two goals. Speer scored the first of his two goals at 3:47 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Michigan Ice Dogs. Hunter Ledgerwood provided the assist. Speer's next tally made the score 5-3 Tennyson Chevrolet with 14:29 left in the third period.

Tennyson Chevrolet forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and one major for 51 minutes in penalty time. Tennyson Chevrolet had been averaging 44.0 minutes in penalties per game. Tennyson Chevrolet's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine Michigan Ice Dogs power plays.

Tennyson Chevrolet additionally got points from Joseph Matyaszek, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Tennyson Chevrolet included Anthony Wojciechowski, who had one and Robert Danyo and Matthew Hopersberger, who each put in two. Christopher Boyd made two saves before being replaced by Brian Ellis, who took the win and made 12 saves. Tennyson Chevrolet registered two goals on five power play opportunities. For Tennyson Chevrolet, Brown was ejected from the game. Colton Lewicki rejected 21 shots on goal for Michigan Ice Dogs. Michigan Ice Dogs incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
