Bloomington Blaze wins tough contest against Rhinelander Street Cats, 3-2

Bloomington Blaze gutted out a close 3-2 win against Rhinelander Street Cats.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Kyler Schmor's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Bloomington Blaze got the win on the strength of a great game by Matt Donley, who had one goal and two assists. Donley scored 3:47 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Bloomington Blaze. Cody Philips picked up the assist.

Bloomington Blaze's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Rhinelander Street Cats power plays. Bloomington Blaze's offense rang up 37 shots on Rhinelander Street Cats' net.

Bloomington Blaze also got a goal from Jacob Lourash as well.

Rhinelander Street Cats put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Bloomington Blaze to score on any of its four power plays.
