Tennyson Chevrolet shrugs off penalties, upends NWO Grrrowl, 6-3

Despite having to fight off several power plays, Tennyson Chevrolet was able to defeat NWO Grrrowl, 6-3.

In the losing effort, NWO Grrrowl was paced by Benjamin Henry, who registered two goals. Henry scored the first of his two goals at 2:31 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Jason Henry provided the assist. Henry's next tally made the score 5-3 Tennyson Chevrolet with 5:54 left in the third period. NWO Grrrowl had gained a power play chance when Keaton Lang was whistled for high sticking. Henry picked up the assist.

Tennyson Chevrolet was sparked by James Smith, who tallied one goal. Smith scored 8:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Tennyson Chevrolet. Anthony Davey assisted on the tally.

Tennyson Chevrolet made NWO Grrrowl's goalies to work without much rest, getting 78 shots and forcing 72 saves. John Posler made 72 stops and Andrew Zuckerman made zero. Tennyson Chevrolet could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 48 minutes in penalties during the game. Tennyson Chevrolet's power play unit failed to produce, and was held to zero goals on 13 chances.

Tennyson Chevrolet also got points from Jacob Bates, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Robert Danyo, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Matthew Hopersberger, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Tennyson Chevrolet also got a goal from Kenneth Winter as well. More assists for Tennyson Chevrolet came via Michael Cruse, Zachary Chapman, and Christian Ramage, who contributed one a piece.

The NWO Grrrowl penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled 17 minors and three majors for 79 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 50.0 minutes per game NWO Grrrowl had been spending in the box. NWO Grrrowl forced Tennyson Chevrolet's netminders to work between the pipes, ripping 32 shots and forcing 29 saves. Brian Ellis made nine stops and Christopher Boyd made 20. NWO Grrrowl stifled Tennyson Chevrolet's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Christopher Carpenter also scored for NWO Grrrowl. Other players who recorded assists for NWO Grrrowl were Nicholas Diehl, who had one.

NWO Grrrowl registered one goal on 10 power play opportunities.
