LA Jr Kings (mm) shrugs off penalties, upends Phoenix Jr Coyotes (mm), 5-1

LA Jr Kings (mm)'s penalty kill was superb, as LA Jr Kings (mm) survived multiple penalties to beat Phoenix Jr Coyotes (mm), 5-1.

LA Jr Kings (mm) was led by Nicholas Rivera, who racked up one goal. Rivera scored on the power play 13:56 into the first period to make the score 2-1 LA Jr Kings (mm). LA Jr Kings (mm) earned a power play opportunity when Derek Brown was put in the box for roughing. Robert Jackson assisted on the tally.

LA Jr Kings (mm) excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Phoenix Jr Coyotes (mm) was unable to stop LA Jr Kings (mm) from sending pucks towards the net, and LA Jr Kings (mm) eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

LA Jr Kings (mm) also got points from Keoni Texeira, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Ty Comrie, who also finished with two goals and one assist. LA Jr Kings (mm) also got a goal from Evan Weinger as well. Other players who recorded assists for LA Jr Kings (mm) were Jonny Marzec, who had one and Josh Wilkins, who had two.

Phoenix Jr Coyotes (mm)'s penalty kill was ineffective, and let in two goals to LA Jr Kings (mm)'s power play unit. Phoenix Jr Coyotes (mm) could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

Phoenix Jr Coyotes (mm) was led by Cole Bisbing, who scored the team's only goal. Bisbing scored 6:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Phoenix Jr Coyotes (mm). Austin Ekstrom picked up the assist.

Gavin Nieto recorded 22 saves for LA Jr Kings (mm). LA Jr Kings (mm) incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Phoenix Jr Coyotes (mm)'s Joshua Nolan stopped 26 shots out of the 31 that he faced.
