Helena rolls over Glacier, 8-0Stumptown Ice Den Thu, Feb 21, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Helena Bighorns were firing on all cylinders against Glacier, and when the final buzzer sounded Bighorns emerged with an 8-0 win. Corbin Belling was all over the ice for Helena, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Belling scored the first of his two goals at 3:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Helena. Parker Olson provided the assist. Belling's next tally made the score 3-0 Helena with 6:08 left in the first period. The Bighorns had gotten the advantage when Glacier's Travis Redman was sent off for roughing. Dylan Webster assisted on the tally. Glacier fell victim to a deadly Helena power play, which ripped Glacier for four goals. The Bighorns forced Glacier's netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 46 shots and forcing 38 saves. Tyler Huberty made 23 stops and Mitchell Tyson made 15. Helena's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Glacier power plays. Helena additionally got points from Olson, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Kyle Baker, who also tallied two goals and one assist. Dylan Canoy also scored for Helena. More assists for Helena came via Christian Axelson, who had three, Devin Smith, Chris Andre, and Alek Lazarski, who each chipped in one, and Brandon Rumble and John Petersson, who contributed two a piece. Glacier's offense operated below it season average. Glacier averages 2.9 goals per game. The Bighorns' Lazarski stopped 23 shots out of the 23 that he faced. Helena incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Glacier incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
