Buffalo Jr Sabres (mm) shrugs off penalties, upends Russell Stover (mm), 4-1

Russell Stover (mm) failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and Buffalo Jr Sabres (mm) shook off a number of penalties to win, 4-1.

Buffalo Jr Sabres (mm) was sparked by Colin Farrell, who tallied one goal. Farrell scored 12:31 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Buffalo Jr Sabres (mm). Joseph Cecconi assisted on the tally.

The defensemen of Buffalo Jr Sabres (mm) were also effective in Russell Stover (mm)'s zone, and came away with two goals. Buffalo Jr Sabres (mm) struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 18 penalty minutes for six opposing power plays.

Buffalo Jr Sabres (mm) also got points from Cecconi, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Ryan Hornberger also scored for Buffalo Jr Sabres (mm). More assists for Buffalo Jr Sabres (mm) came via Owen Green, Eric Szczecinski, Matthew Damico, Eric Benshadle, and Christian Zimmerman, who contributed one a piece.

Russell Stover (mm) could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Russell Stover (mm) was led by Grant Anderson, who scored the team's only goal. Anderson scored on the power play 3:10 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Buffalo Jr Sabres (mm). An interference penalty on Benshadle had put Russell Stover (mm) on the power play. Anthony Song provided the assist.

Matthew Blattenberger made 21 saves for Buffalo Jr Sabres (mm) on 22 shots. Buffalo Jr Sabres (mm) registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. Kaynan Vaeth took the loss and made eight saves before being replaced by Max Kerner who made 13 saves.
