Huge game by Santo boosts Dayton Aeros over NWO Grrrowl, 6-3Monroe MSC Tue, Sep 25, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
Behind a great game by Ryan Santo, who had two goals and one assist, Dayton Aeros defeated NWO Grrrowl, 6-3. Santo scored at 1:14 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Dayton Aeros and again while 11:50 into the third to make the score 5-2 Dayton Aeros.In the losing effort, NWO Grrrowl was paced by Ryker Kein, who had two goals. Kein scored the first of his two goals at 9:50 into the first period to make the score 1-0 NWO Grrrowl. Nicholas Diehl assisted on the tally. Kein's next tally made the score 5-3 Dayton Aeros with 7:13 left in the third period. Benjamin Henry provided the assist. Dayton Aeros stifled NWO Grrrowl's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Dayton Aeros' offense rang up 53 shots on NWO Grrrowl's net. The defensemen of Dayton Aeros were also effective in NWO Grrrowl's zone, and came away with two goals. Dayton Aeros also got points from John Cahill, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Cody Olsen, who also finished with two goals and one assist. Dayton Aeros also got a goal from Michael Burgess as well. Other players who recorded assists for Dayton Aeros were Steven Keith, Dalton Gertsen, and Mark Capaldi, who contributed one a piece and Kerry Cummings and Troy Sandy, who each chipped in two. NWO Grrrowl put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Dayton Aeros to score on any of its three power plays. NWO Grrrowl kept Dayton Aeros' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Price made 49 saves on 52 shots. Jason Henry also scored for NWO Grrrowl. In addition, NWO Grrrowl received assists from Dustin Kein, who had one. Dayton Aeros ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major. John Posler rejected 47 shots on goal for NWO Grrrowl. NWO Grrrowl totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 0-for-5 on the power play.
