Holland River Bandits failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and Michigan Ice Dogs shook off a number of penalties to win, 5-2.

Michigan Ice Dogs was paced by Nicholas DeGiusti, who tallied one goal. DeGiusti scored on the power play 18:38 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Michigan Ice Dogs. Michigan Ice Dogs earned a power play opportunity when Cameron Fisher was put in the box for holding. Ashton Guy assisted on the tally.

Michigan Ice Dogs forced Holland River Bandits goalie Jeromy Semtner to work between the pipes, taking 52 shots. Michigan Ice Dogs' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in three goals.
