Helena Bighorns' Christian Axelson had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 6-1 win over Great Falls Americans.

Axelson beat Angus Klancher with a shot 8:44 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Helena Bighorns. Jarrett Pfeiffer picked up the assist. Axelson dished an assist on Logan Henne's goal that made the score 4-1 Helena Bighorns at 19:09 into the second period. He added another helper on Henne's goal that made the score 5-1 Helena Bighorns at 3:50 into the third period.

Helena Bighorns pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 18 penalty minutes.

Helena Bighorns made Great Falls Americans' goaltenders to work between the pipes, finishing with 44 shots and forcing 38 saves. Klancher made 21 stops and Evan Hauser made 17. Helena Bighorns stifled Great Falls Americans' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Helena Bighorns could not produce up to it normal offensive output. Helena Bighorns puts an average of 8.8 pucks into the net per game.

Helena Bighorns also got points from Kyle Baker, who also registered one goal and one assist. Corbin Belling also scored for Helena Bighorns. More assists for Helena Bighorns came via Matt Mohar, Jacob Wolter, Danny Fazio, Kevin Choi, Devin Smith, John Petersson, and Logan Hawgood, who each chipped in one.

Great Falls Americans was led by Connor Mize, who scored the team's only goal. Mize scored 9:30 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Mason Wade assisted on the tally.

Julian DiFilippo recorded 15 saves for Helena Bighorns. Helena Bighorns registered one goal on nine power play opportunities. Great Falls Americans incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors.
