Gillette Wild beats Billings Bulls 7-0 as Cavan gets hat trick

Tyler Cavan lifted Gillette Wild to a 7-0 victory with a hat trick against Billings Bulls.

Cavan's first goal came 12:07 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:06 into the first and at 13:09 into the third.

Brandon Kruckenberg spearheaded the defensive effort for Gillette Wild, as he did not allow a puck past him and made 29 saves for the shutout. Kruckenberg certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.49 entering the contest.

Gillette Wild managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Gillette Wild wound up below its season average of 17.0 penalty minutes per game. Billings Bulls' defense shut down Gillette Wild's forwards for much of the game, and Gillette Wild got off only seven shots during the contest.

Gillette Wild also got points from Darren Banks, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Gillette Wild also got a goal from Matt Rose as well. More assists for Gillette Wild came via Trent Dillinger, Andrew Lillard, TJ McMinn, and Tyler Johnson, who each chipped in one and Ronnie Wilshusen, Ethan Hicks, Boris Knyazev, and Dylan Martinez, who contributed two a piece.

Gillette Wild registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Billings Bulls incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
