Jersey Wildcats failed to take advantage of its power play opportunities and Junior Bruins shook off a number of penalties to win, 3-1. Junior Bruins was led by Jordan Hanahan, who had one goal and one assist. Hanahan scored 10:48 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Junior Bruins. Ryan Azar assisted on the tally. Junior Bruins put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Jersey Wildcats to score on any of its six power plays. Junior Bruins' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Junior Bruins finished with 18 penalty minutes. Junior Bruins additionally got points from Mike Kantorski, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. John Buchanan also scored for Junior Bruins. In addition, Junior Bruins received assists from Brian Fahey, who had one. Jersey Wildcats' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Junior Bruins power plays. Jersey Wildcats was led by Carmine Taffo, who scored the team's only goal. Taffo scored 1:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Jersey Wildcats. Benjamin Gagnon rejected 14 shots on goal for Junior Bruins. Nathan Leo recorded 22 saves for Jersey Wildcats. Jersey Wildcats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
