Lambton Shores vanquishes LaSalle in shootout, 4-3 (2-1 SO)

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Lambton Shores Predators defeated the LaSalle Vipers in a shootout 4-3 (2-1 SO).

The shootout lasted for six attempts between the teams. LaSalle's shootout goal was scored by Dylan Denomme. In addition to the clincher, Lambton Shores got a shootout goal from Austin Fetterly.

The Predators came back from a three-goal deficit to capture the victory. Lambton Shores fell behind 3-0 after a power play goal by the Vipers' Chad Shepley at 48 seconds in the third period. The Predators knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Kyler Keating at 8:06 in the third period.

Adam Arseneault had two goals to lead Lambton Shores to victory. Arseneault scored on the power play at 2:07 into the third period to make the score 3-1 LaSalle and again while on the power play 5:56 into the third to make the score 3-2 LaSalle.

More assists for Lambton Shores came via Brandon Butler and Nick Sproveiro, who contributed one a piece and Connor Annett and Kyle Brothers, who each chipped in two.

LaSalle forced the Predators goalie Brandon Campbell to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

The Vipers were helped by Brian Johnson, who had one goal. Johnson scored 8:47 into the first period to make the score 2-0 LaSalle. Mitch Graham picked up the assist. LaSalle additionally got points from Shepley, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Denomme, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for LaSalle were Nathan Savage, who had one.

Campbell recorded 36 saves for Lambton Shores. The Predators incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. LaSalle's Conner MacKinnon stopped 26 shots out of the 29 that he faced. The Vipers incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
