WHITBY blows out OAKVILLE, 5-2

WHITBY had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-2 win over OAKVILLE.

Nicole Martindale was all over the ice for WHITBY, as she tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Martindale scored 11:08 into the second period to make the score 4-2 WHITBY. Rhyen McGill picked up the assist.

WHITBY forced OAKVILLE goalie Camille Leonard to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

WHITBY additionally got points from McGill, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Alex Moore, who also registered one goal and two assists. WHITBY also got a goal from Kirsten Welsh as well. More assists for WHITBY came via Madison Badeau, Marie-Pierre Pelissou (A), and Lindsey Brazill, who contributed one a piece.

OAKVILLE put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow WHITBY to score on any of its five power plays. OAKVILLE's normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. OAKVILLE gives up 2.4 goals per game.

WHITBY's Marissa Kozovski stopped 14 shots out of the 16 that she faced. WHITBY incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Camille Leonard made 36 saves for OAKVILLE on 41 shots. OAKVILLE incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
