Early goals doom BRAMPTON, falls to MISSISSAUGA, 6-0

MISSISSAUGA opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 6-0 over BRAMPTON.

Hilary Lloyd was all over the ice for MISSISSAUGA, as she tallied one goal and two assists in the win. Lloyd scored 3:23 into the first period to make the score 2-0 MISSISSAUGA. Ainsley MacMillan picked up the assist.

MISSISSAUGA put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow BRAMPTON to score on any of its three power plays. MISSISSAUGA forced BRAMPTON goalie Hanna Mandl to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. MISSISSAUGA found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, MISSISSAUGA averages 3.8 goals per contest. The defensemen of MISSISSAUGA were also effective in BRAMPTON's zone, and came away with two goals.

MISSISSAUGA additionally got points from Kristyn Capizzano, who also finished with one goal and one assist. MISSISSAUGA also got a goal from Mikaela Lowater as well. In addition, MISSISSAUGA received assists from Kaitlin Doering, who had two and Sarah Steele, Hannah Duncan, and Kelly Mariani, who each chipped in one.

Amelia Boughn made 18 saves for MISSISSAUGA on 18 shots. MISSISSAUGA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Mandl rejected 26 shots on goal for BRAMPTON. BRAMPTON incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
