Burriss nets hat trick, leads KINGSTON to 6-4 win over ETOBICOKE

Alysha Burriss netted a hat trick to lead KINGSTON over ETOBICOKE, 6-4.

Burriss' first goal came 5:29 into the third period. He then added goals at 16:10 into the third and at 18:53 into the third.

KINGSTON's offense rang up 31 shots on ETOBICOKE's net. KINGSTON surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, KINGSTON averages 1.9 goal per contest.

KINGSTON also got points from Shelby Perry (A), who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Kailey Peirson, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Brianna Gaffney also scored for KINGSTON. More assists for KINGSTON came via Logan Conger, who had two, Megan Simpson (A), who had three, and Megan MacLeod and Christi McKinney, who contributed one a piece.

KINGSTON was unable to stop ETOBICOKE from sending pucks towards the net, and ETOBICOKE eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. ETOBICOKE gave up more goals than its normal season average. ETOBICOKE gives up 2.4 goals per game.

ETOBICOKE was led by Cara Sayles, who racked up two goals. Sayles scored the first of her two goals at 7:11 into the second period to make the score 2-1 ETOBICOKE. Susan Lorett picked up the assist. Sayles' next tally made the score 3-1 ETOBICOKE with 6:13 left in the second period. Stacy Joe assisted on the tally. ETOBICOKE also got a goal from Jennifer Thompson as well. Other players who recorded assists for ETOBICOKE were Shannon Whitaker, Nicole Spadotto, Shana Walker, and Mackenzie Johnston, who each chipped in one.

KINGSTON's Jensen Murphy stopped 27 shots out of the 31 that she faced. KINGSTON incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Keri Martin rejected 25 shots on goal for ETOBICOKE. ETOBICOKE incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
