LEASIDE falls to KINGSTON after surprising comeback

KINGSTON climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat LEASIDE, 3-2.

KINGSTON never led in the game until netting the game winner. KINGSTON was down 2-0 after a goal by LEASIDE's Miranda VonHanke at 1:41 in the second period. KINGSTON knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Alysha Burriss at 13:14 in the third period. KINGSTON scored the game winner at 19:01 in the third period on a goal by Burriss.

KINGSTON was led by Jaclyn Bastedo, who finished with one goal.

KINGSTON also got a goal from Brianna Gaffney as well. In addition, KINGSTON received assists from Shelby Perry (A), Hayley Evershed, Megan Simpson (A), Brooke Lemieux, Victoria Chapman (A), and Christi McKinney, who contributed one a piece.

LEASIDE put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow KINGSTON to score on any of its four power plays. LEASIDE's offense rang up 41 shots on KINGSTON's net.

Megan Sullivan also scored for LEASIDE. Other players who recorded assists for LEASIDE were Kristen Lucas, Kendra Corbett, Ashley Bailey, and Katrina Manoukarakis, who each chipped in one.

Jensen Murphy made 39 saves for KINGSTON on 41 shots. KINGSTON incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. LEASIDE's Alex Armstrong stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that she faced. LEASIDE incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
