BRAMPTON survived a determined comeback attempt by KINGSTON on the way to a 3-2 win. BRAMPTON made the score 3-1 on a goal by Alessia Pasquariello at 8:48 in the second period, and KINGSTON got as close as 3-2 when Brianna Gaffney scored 8:03 into the third period. Pasquariello had a great game for BRAMPTON, netting two goals. BRAMPTON's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on nine KINGSTON power plays. BRAMPTON could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game. BRAMPTON also got a goal from Shaelynne Smith (A) as well. More assists for BRAMPTON came via Caitlyn Manning, who had two and Shelby Dunn, Irene Kiroplis, and Candace Seguin, who contributed one a piece. KINGSTON excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. KINGSTON was helped by Alysha Burriss, who registered one goal. Burriss scored 56 seconds into the second period to make the score 1-1. Hayley Evershed picked up the assist. In addition, KINGSTON received assists from Megan MacLeod and Christi McKinney, who each chipped in one. BRAMPTON's Brooke Stoddart stopped 20 shots out of the 22 that she faced. Elizabeth Spinozzi rejected 13 shots on goal for KINGSTON. KINGSTON ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. KINGSTON ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Victoria Chapman (A) was ejected from the game.
