NEPEAN rips ETOBICOKE, 5-1

NEPEAN had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 5-1 win over ETOBICOKE.

NEPEAN was led by Josiane Pozzebon, who tallied one goal. Pozzebon scored 3:11 into the second period to make the score 2-0 NEPEAN. Lindsay Eastwood picked up the assist.

NEPEAN's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five ETOBICOKE power plays. NEPEAN kept ETOBICOKE's goalie busy throughout the game, and Keri Martin made 26 saves on 31 shots. NEPEAN's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

NEPEAN also got points from Mackenzie Stone, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Lauren Miller, who also had one goal and one assist, and Eastwood, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. NEPEAN also got a goal from Alyssa Baker as well. In addition, NEPEAN received assists from Katryne Villeneuve, who had one, Meghan Brennan, who had two, and Sam Cogan, who had three.

ETOBICOKE's normally stingy defense allowed more goals than usual. ETOBICOKE gives up 2.3 goals per game. ETOBICOKE was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 14 penalty minutes.

Makayla Campbell recorded 21 saves for NEPEAN. NEPEAN incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
