OTTAWA beat BARRIE, 2-0, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout. Rebecca Leslie provided OTTAWA with the game-winning tally when she scored 11:07 into the the first period. Stacy Galasso assisted on the tally.Sarah McGall spearheaded the defensive effort for OTTAWA, as she did not allow a puck past him and made 29 saves for the shutout. The solid play of McGall will be reflected in her goals against average, which pre-game was 2.54. OTTAWA was sparked by Leslie, who racked up one goal and one assist. OTTAWA put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow BARRIE to score on any of its five power plays. OTTAWA was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. OTTAWA averages 2.6 goals allowed per game. OTTAWA forced BARRIE goalie Sarah Stephens to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. OTTAWA also got a goal from Mackenzie Coney as well.
