BURLINGTON uses early goal to top KINGSTON, 3-1

Lauren Patterson gave BURLINGTON the lead in the first period, and KINGSTON was never able to catch up in a close game that ended 3-1.

A goal 5:27 into the the first period by Patterson proved to be the game winner, and powered BURLINGTON to the victory Becki Bowering assisted on the tally.

Kirsten Miller had a great game for BURLINGTON, netting two goals. Miller's tallies came at 5:55 into the first period to make the score 2-0 BURLINGTON and 13:53 into the first to make the score 3-1 BURLINGTON.

BURLINGTON made KINGSTON's goaltenders to work all game long, ripping 34 shots and forcing 31 saves. Elizabeth Spinozzi made zero stops and Jensen Murphy made 31. BURLINGTON managed to stay out of the box better than usual, tallying one minor for two minutes in penalty time. BURLINGTON ended up below its season average of 10.0 penalty minutes per game.

Other players who recorded assists for BURLINGTON were Maeve Garvey, who had two and Logan Boyd and Tristyn Svetek, who each chipped in one.

KINGSTON was led by Alysha Burriss, who scored the team's only goal. Burriss scored 10:09 into the first period to make the score 2-1 BURLINGTON. Kailey Peirson provided the assist.

Kyra OBrien made 24 saves for BURLINGTON on 25 shots. BURLINGTON registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. KINGSTON incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
