WATERLOO squeaks by NEPEAN, 4-2Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Sat, Jan 12, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The game between WATERLOO and NEPEAN was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end WATERLOO emerged with a 4-2 win. No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Hannah Davidson at 19:16 of the third period. Davidson had one goal and two assists to lead WATERLOO. WATERLOO stifled NEPEAN's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. WATERLOO also got points from Jade Gauthier, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Dollee Meigs, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Loren Gabel also scored for WATERLOO. More assists for WATERLOO came via Amber Sealey, who had one. NEPEAN put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow WATERLOO to score on any of its four power plays. NEPEAN was led by Alyssa Baker, who finished with one goal and one assist. Baker scored 1:08 into the third period to make the score 2-1 NEPEAN. Meghan Brennan provided the assist. NEPEAN also got a goal from Mackenzie Stone as well. In addition, NEPEAN received assists from Taylor Thurston, who had one. WATERLOO's Laura Deller stopped 27 shots out of the 29 that she faced. WATERLOO incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kayla (PU) Thompson rejected 16 shots on goal for NEPEAN. NEPEAN incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
