TORONTO beats OTTAWA 3-1 after comeback scare

TORONTO survived a determined comeback attempt by OTTAWA on the way to a 3-1 win.

TORONTO took a 3-0 lead during the third period, only to have OTTAWA storm back on a Amanda Titus goal 17:29 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

Brooke Webster was all over the ice for TORONTO, as she tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Webster scored the first of her two goals at 3:26 into the first period to make the score 1-0 TORONTO. MacKenzie MacNeil picked up the assist. Webster's next tally made the score 2-0 TORONTO with 13:44 left in the first period. Breanne Grant provided the assist.

TORONTO put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow OTTAWA to score on any of its four power plays. TORONTO kept OTTAWA's goalie busy throughout the game, and Sarah McGall made 39 saves on 42 shots.

TORONTO additionally got points from Victoria Andreakos, who also racked up one goal and one assist.

OTTAWA's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four TORONTO power plays.

More assists for OTTAWA came via Meghan Carty and Shania Lavallee, who each chipped in one.

Liberty McKague made 20 saves for TORONTO on 21 shots. TORONTO incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. OTTAWA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
